12a) MONTREUX OVERNIGHT – PICK AND MIX TOUR

Fancy a quick trip to the French part of Switzerland and partake in a variety of activities and attractions in this beautiful area. The chose is yours as there is so much to see and do – if anything you need longer here – see the 5 Multi-Day version.

Day 1 Have a early start,  and travel from Luzern and make a stop along Lake Brienz or Thun in Interlaken possibly. Drive onto the Gstaad for a spot of lunch and walk down the main street and do some (window) shopping in the luxury shops there.  Afterwards drive onto Montreux and spend the afternoon strolling along the lakeside and taking in the atmosphere of this famous lakeside town. Have dinner in one of several high end restaurants and call it a day at your comfortable hotel.

Day 2 Again rise early and possibly check out the 12th Century Chillon Castle or venture further along the lake to Lausanne and Vevey and visit the Olympic or Charlie Chaplain museums or  if wine is your thing, take a trip to a vineyards in the Lavaux region and sample a glass or two. More options include taking the cable car to the tops of Glacier 3000 where you’ll be greeted with dramatic alpine views that stretch to Jungfrau, the Matterhorn, and even Mont Blanc. And to really make it difficult to choose what to do why visit the Cailler chocolate factory at Broc and combine with a cheesey experience at Gruyere and the medieval village there before heading back to Luzern.
