Your Driver Guide – Chris Wilson aka TST, pleased to meet you.
I originally come from Manchester, UK, where I was born. I studied Politics at the University of Hull and, after several years working in event management with Nike, I moved to Switzerland in 2000. I then worked as an Operations Manager for UEFA and FIFA, organising the commercial side of major football events such as the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship and UEFA Champions League – a dream job indeed.
At the same time, I had the opportunity to experience life in Switzerland and discover its incredible natural beauty, history and culture. My love for this country, together with my passion for meeting people and organising memorable experiences, inspired me to launch Typically Swiss Tours (TST).
Living in Switzerland, surrounded by such breathtaking scenery, is a privilege, and I am convinced that every visitor should have the chance to experience more than just the famous sights. I believe the best memories are often created in the hidden valleys, charming villages, peaceful lakes and spectacular mountain landscapes that don’t always appear in the guidebooks.
As more travellers began looking for authentic, personal experiences rather than large group tours, I wanted to share my knowledge of Switzerland through private and small-group tours. My aim is not only to show guests the country’s most beautiful places, but also to make them feel relaxed, well looked after and truly welcome throughout their journey. My philosophy is simple: to provide a VIP experience without the VIP price tag. Before starting Typically Swiss Tours, my wife and I successfully ran our Airbnb, 4 Seasons Luzern, from 2016 to 2024. Welcoming guests from around the world gave us valuable experience in hospitality and personal service that continues to shape the service I provide today.
Today I live in Lucerne with my family. We are passionate travellers ourselves and have explored not only Switzerland but many destinations around the world. Because of this, we understand what visitors are looking for: comfort, relaxation, local knowledge, good communication, flexibility and those special places that make a trip truly unforgettable. My hope is that every tour creates memories you will treasure for many years.

DRIVING LICENSE AND EXPERIENCE
I have been driving for over 35 years and in 2017 passed the theory and practical test to drive multiple passengers (121 Swiss licence).
INSURANCE
Public Liability Insurance for Business. Allianz coverage up to 5 million chf. Private Hire Vehicle Insurance. Fully comprehensive private hire cover with Allianz Insurance.
MEMBERSHIPS
Member of the Swiss Tourist Guide Association (ASGT), since 2018.
ASGT is an association of Swiss tour leaders and local/ regional guides.
