Choose from one of the most famous 6 peaks which surround Luzern. All accessible by boat, cable car and train.
Mt Rigi (600ft)is known as the Queen of the mountains and offers some great walking opportunities as well as being reached by boat from Weggis (cable car) or Vitznau (train)
Mt Pilatus (7000ft) is known for the famous golden round trip involving boat, the steepest cog wheel in the world and 2 cable cars. Many activities take place on the mountain at Frakmunteg.
Mt Titlis is the highest in the region at 10000 ft and has snow all year round at the top. This ski / hiking resort has many amenities including the new Titlis Tower which opened in 2026.
Mt Stanserhorn (6000ft) is open April to November and is the only “cabrio / Open top” cable car in the world which is a unique experience in itself. A 30 minute walking trail and delicious food awaits visitors.
Mt Stoos (6000ft) is famous for its famous Stoos Ridge Hike – one of the most beautiful hikes in Switzerland.
Mt Burgenstock (3000ft) is a perfect place to enjoy nature and panoramic views especially from the famous “Hammetschwand Lift”.

We only had one day in Switzerland. Thanks to Chris, we were able to make the most of it.
After several conversations, Chris tailor-made a full day excursion work for four 77-79 year-olds, some of whom have trouble getting around. We were very happy with our cruise of beautiful Lake Lucerne, the train ride to Rigi and the gondola down the mountain. We enjoyed seeing historic points of interest in Lucerne and sampling Swiss cuisine for lunch. Conversation in the car was both informative and fun. Want the best of guides?
