FAQs
What makes Typically Swiss Tours (TST) different from other tour companies in Switzerland?
Typically Swiss Tours specialises exclusively in private, tailor-made tours throughout Switzerland. Every itinerary is customised to your interests, pace and travel style. Unlike standard group tours, you’ll enjoy a personal guide, flexible scheduling and the freedom to discover Switzerland at your own pace.
Can you customise a tour to suit our interests?
Absolutely. Every tour can be tailored to your preferences. Whether you’re interested in scenic mountain railways, Swiss villages, chocolate and cheese experiences, luxury shopping, photography, hiking, history or hidden local gems, we’ll create an itinerary that matches your interests and available time.
Which areas of Switzerland do you cover?
We offer private tours throughout Switzerland, including destinations such as Lucerne, Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Zermatt, St. Moritz, Bern, Zurich, Geneva, Montreux, the Jungfrau Region, the Bernese Oberland and many other beautiful locations. I also create multi-day tours covering several regions.
What is included in a private tour?
Our tours typically include your professional private guide, personalised itinerary planning and transportation as specified in your booking. Admission to places eg cable cars and chocolate factories are not included but often discounted. TST will clearly outline everything included before you confirm your booking.
Where can you collect us from?
TST can usually collect guests from hotels, airports, railway stations, cruise ports or other agreed locations throughout Switzerland. Collection arrangements are confirmed during the planning process to ensure your day starts as smoothly as possible.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly during the busy summer season and over Christmas and New Year. Early booking ensures the greatest availability and allows us more time to design the perfect itinerary. However, if your travel dates are approaching, please contact us—we’ll always do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.
Are your tours suitable for families, seniors and travellers with limited mobility?
Yes. Because every tour is private and customised, we can adapt the itinerary to suit families with children, older travellers and guests with specific mobility requirements wherever possible. Please let me know your needs when making your enquiry so TST can recommend the most suitable experiences.
Do you offer multi-day private tours in Switzerland?
Yes. In addition to day tours, TST specialises in multi-day private tours that can cover multiple regions of Switzerland. Whether you’re planning a 3-day Alpine getaway or a comprehensive 2-week Swiss holiday, TST can design a seamless itinerary including sightseeing, transportation and accommodation recommendations.
Can you help us plan our entire Swiss holiday?
Absolutely. Many of our guests use our expertise to plan their entire Switzerland itinerary. We can recommend destinations, transportation, hotels, activities and dining options to help you make the most of your time in Switzerland.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of our tour?
Switzerland’s weather can be unpredictable, especially in the mountains. If conditions affect part of the planned itinerary, we will do our best to adjust the schedule and suggest suitable alternatives to ensure you still enjoy an exceptional experience.
How do I book a tour with Typically Swiss Tours?
Simply contact me through our website, email or enquiry form with your travel dates, group size and interests. We will discuss your requirements, create a personalised itinerary and provide a detailed quotation before you make a booking commitment.
